Dr Scheepmaker completed her Bachelor's of Science degree in Natural and Environmental Science, with the Rand Afrikaans University in 2004. After these three years of study, she went on to study further by entering into a five year full time Master's degree in Homoeopathy, with the University of Johannesburg. She successfully completed her Master's thesis on The quality of selected local and international homoeopathic mother tinctures according to thin layer chromatography in 2010, following which she was registered as a Homoeopathic Practitioner with the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA) and is currently a member of the Homoeopathic Association of South Africa (HSA).
The scope of homoeopathic practice is not limited to any single area or system of the body and as such, despite particular fields of interest, homoeopathic practitioners are capable of diagnosing and treating a wide range of both acute and chronic conditions such as allergies, sinusitis, colds and flu's, skin conditions, hormonal conditions, digestive system complaints and various neurological conditions.
Dr Scheepmaker has an interest in sports medicine covering areas of recurring injuries, rehabilitation and competitive preparation. This also extends to a general interest to all musculoskeletal conditions, including chronic back pain, repetitive stress injuries and sciatica. Due to the fact that the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions can often correspond to diseases and ailments from other origins, Dr Scheepmaker feels that this is a well chosen field to concentrate on.
